A Special Message From Andreas Tieber

The Headmaster of the Joe Zawinul Musikschule, Andreas Tieber, recently spent 10 days with Jamael Dean, who was the US recipient of the first annual International Music Student Exchange Program.  Here is what Andreas has to say about the time he spent with Jamael.
“From June 15th to 26th we had the pleasure of hosting the Joe Zawinul International Music Award winner, Jamael Dean, in Gumpoldskirchen, Austria.  While visiting with us, he received private piano lessons in both the Jazz and Classical genres from professors at the Joe Zawinul Musikschule, and participated in local concerts as a featured guest artist.  Jamael was also given insight into the Austrian culture and way of life, which is ultimately the soul of Joe Zawinul and his music.  We hope that Jamael enjoyed his stay and that he will benefit from every part of this exchange experience.  I am sure that the brilliant collaboration between the Zawinul Foundation for Achievement and the Joe Zawinul Musikschule will continue with this and many new projects!”
