2014 US “Z” Award Winner Named “Best Jazz Soloist” in DownBeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards!

The Zawinul Foundation for Achievement is so proud to hear Jamael Dean, ZFFA’s first American “Z” Award winner, was just  named “Best Jazz Soloist” in DownBeat Magazine’s Student Music Awards! Jamael played piano on the Brubeck Institute Jazz Quintet 2016-2017 recording, which also earned Best Small Jazz Combo honors. Read all about it in the legendary magazine’s June issue.
